Visit to the FRC

On Saturday, March 30, Coach, Nancy, and I went to the University of Minnesota to watch an FRC (First Robotics Competition) competition. It was very different from FLL; the robots were much bigger and they had to complete bigger tasks. This year, the task was to make the robot shoot Frisbees into three different towers – low height, middle height and high height. Also, the robot had to end balancing on a pyramid structure, kind of how our robot had to end balancing on the bridge. At the competition, the feeling was very intense and it was super competitive. But, it was all in good fun.

Also, there was a display outside of the arena telling about FTC (First Tech Challenge). They have to actually engineer a robot; it’s a really good way to apply science and math to the real world.  We met an all girls team displaying their robot there. Here’s a link to their website: http://www.roboticadrenaline.com/
